Yan George, Gevork Keshishyan, was born November 1955 in Aleppo, Syria and migrated back to his homeland Armenia in 1965 along with his family. There he studied at the Terlemezian Art College of Yerevan from 1971 to 1975, graduating with honors. The same year he started attending the University of Arts and Theater of Armenia from which he graduated in 1981. Since then, George has fully devoted himself to art, sculpting a number of compositions including mixed media. In 1986 he became a member of the Union of Artists of USSR and participated in several exhibitions around the world. In 1987 George immigrated to America and today continues his career as a sculptor.
